Mary Berry Cheese And Poppy Seed Biscuits Variations
- Cream of tartar: This adds a tangy taste to the cheese biscuits recipe Mary Berry. Because the cream of tartar is acidic and causes dough to rise when coupled with baking soda, it can be necessary in recipes. In this case, the cream of tartar serves mostly as flavoring because baking powder is used to achieve leavening.
- Garlic: If you’re not fond of mincing, you can also use a microplane to grate the garlic, which will give these biscuits an amazing zing. Not a single clove in sight? Garlic powder or granulated garlic are other options.
- Crushed pepper flakes: Add some pepper flakes to the mixture. It’s just enough to give the biscuits an extra bit of zing without making them spicy.
Pro Tips To Make Perfect Mary Berry Cheese And Poppy Seed Biscuits
- Preventing Dryness: Take care not to overbake or overmix the dough in order to keep the biscuits from getting too dry.
- Modifying Spiciness: You can change the degree of spiciness by adjusting the quantity of cayenne pepper that is used.
- Baking Indicators: When the biscuits are firm to the touch and have turned a golden brown around the edges, they are done.
